Homage to my grandpa

The clock is ticking the sun rises and sets but we remain searching for our beloved ones, shall we succeed? that’s for you to find out.it was dawn, at last, I looked around the strange surrounding where I had spent the night wondering if anyone really lived there, it was on 9/9//2019, the last day had to be a long and hectic day for me the only thing that I wanted now was to reach my house. I traced back my car drove to my residence, headed directly to the shower room, and took a bath since I was smelling licker, I rushed back to my room put on my tuxedo, then the thought of getting late to the village struck my mind as I got outside the house into my car bought a bouquet of flower and headed to the village.

On my arrival to my village, everyone was in a jovial mood except I who was emotionally disturbed but regardless of that I tried not to show it, I got the bouquet of flower from my car and walked to my grandpa graveyard, it was the same day, same month but the different year that my grandpa became diseased, it was his death anniversary, at the graveyard, the thought of the fresh red soil was too much for me to handle, seeing the heap of soil which my grandpa motionless body had been laid at made me weep like it was just the other day that this happened, it has been three years now since I learned and witnessed with deep sorrow the untimely death of my grandpa, (Mzee) Wilson Mwadzombo Mpate you truly were a source of inspiration to all of us that knew you. I vividly recall those days when we sat on Terrance’s swapping ideas of what would become of me when I grow up, telling tales to your grandchildren and making promises to each other. Your grandson has grown up and become a handsome young man about to enter my internship in the IT field also an author in Sofa novels. All I ask from you is to shower me with every bit of success so that I can emerge successful in anything I do. Though sorrowful the villagers live to celebrate this day, they praise you for the great contribution of the development of the entire village that you made and which will be greatly missed. Much respect to you grandpa, I will always live to follow your legacy and bring out the best you in me in my heart grandpa you will never be stolen.
