"That's too much, Leo. Why are you so impatient?"
Meredith's face turned pale all of a sudden because she recognized that voice belonged to nobody else but... Ava!
"Aren't you the little slut who seduced me?" Leo put his arm around Ava's slim waist and caressed her up and down.
Meredith's eyelashes fluttered. She couldn't believe that the man in the car was actually her so-called decent fiance!
Back then, her mother's family had some influence in J City, so when she was still a child, her mother set up an engagement with the Howard Family, a famous and rich local family, on her behalf.
Meredith and Leo had been dating on the premise of marriage. Originally, Meredith should have married him after she turned 18. However, she went into prison and the marriage had to be laid aside.
Leo was Meredith's only boyfriend, the man she thought would be with for the rest of her life. But during three years in prison, he never visited her once. She thought that Leo couldn't come because of the pressure from the Xavier Family, but now it seemed that it was because Leo was with Ava that he had already forgotten about Meredith.
Meredith had also thought that Leo might have found a new girlfriend outside. As someone she really liked, she was willing to wish him happiness. But why did it happen to be Ava?
Leo got out of the car with satisfaction after his lust was relieved. When he saw the woman standing at the door, he was shocked a bit. Then, his face changed.
"Meredith? Why are you here?"
The same old question. Meredith looked at Leo's face which was as handsome as she remembered, but she saw no gentleness but only obvious disdain in his eyes.|
"Why... does it have to be her?" Meredith murmured.
Whoever else it was, she probably wouldn't have been so upset that she felt herself being slapped, but it was Ava.
It was Ava who schemed against her and put her in jail.
"Why do you ask? Do you know that what stain it would be on my reputation when you went to prison and I almost had a fiancée with a criminal record? " Leo looked at Meredith with disdain, as if he were looking at an idiot. "If Ava hadn't stood up in time and said that she was the one who had been engaged to me, would you be able to bear the consequences?"
"Stop it. It's understandable that my sister can't accept us. It's my fault." Seeing that Leo was agitated, Ava walked over and gently tugged at his sleeve.
"Ava, you are just this kind." Leo's masculinity was activated by the tenderness she showed. He looked at Meredith fiercely. "Meredith, I hope you know yourself better. Don't presume that Ava has stolen your fiance. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for failing to live up to my expectations and putting yourself in jail. Any man will despise you as bad luck."
Meredith took a step back. Ava grabbed her and whispered in Meredith's ear, "Sister, actually, I had a relationship with Leo long before you went to prison. I really want to thank you for taking the guilt for me and giving away such a good fiance."
Meredith suddenly realized the truth as if waking up from a dream, and a deep pain crept into her eyes. She pushed Ava's hand away. It turned out that they had already been in a secret relationship long before she went to prison?
Meredith did not use much strength, but Ava sat down on the ground as if it were because of the push and cried out in pain, "Ah, my foot, it hurts!"
"What are you doing!" Leo saw Ava being bullied and pushed Meredith right away. His hand was so strong that he threw her out. When she fell down, she supported herself with her wrist and immediately felt a heart-wrenching pain.
Ava was held up. "I'm fine. I was just careless. Sister, are you okay?"
Her voice was still so gentle that Leo's heart softened. "Bitches like her are born tough. That won't hurt her a bit. She pushed you down. Don't worry about her. I'll take you back for some treatment."
The man held Ava up in his arms. "Meredith, get out of here if you don't want more troubles. Otherwise, the security guards will come here soon and drive you out of here. It's up to you."
Ava smiled at Meredith from an angle where Leo couldn't see her face and said to Meredith in a lip-sync manner, "You're destined to lose to me in everything."
